TMWF Youth

Purpose:  To provide an opportunity for our Youth of various ages, depending on the age appropriate supervised activity, to meet other youths from various areas of the DFW Metroplex at the same time providing the opportunities for interaction, service, and entertainment by involving them in not just fun activities, but also meaningful service to the community promoting charity and each person’s responsibility to the community.   In addition, we hope to serve as ambassadors of the Muslim community to portray a positive image to the public.

  • The Youth group has been in existence since February 2007, and has been actively participating in various activities monthly at places such as Christian Community Action – Food Pantry & Resale stores, The Salvation Army, City House, The Samaritan Inn, and North Dallas Shared Ministries.
  • The Youth have also participated in National Day of Service, Humanitarian Day as well as Day of Dignity catering to the less fortunate and homeless of the Dallas area.
  • Our group has helped TMWF by volunteering at the organization’s fundraisers and the Resale Sophisticate store.  We have also had Interfaith Seminars to teach the kids how to talk to those of other faiths when asked about our religion.  We held a Youth Interfaith Potluck Dinner and invited those Youth of other faiths to join us for food and light conversation about our religious similarities and differences.
  • One of our larger annual undertakings has been the TMWF Youth Toy Drive held annually at the time of Eid Al-Adha benefitting the sick and less fortunate children at Children’s Medical Center, Ronald McDonald House, CITY House, and providing Eid gifts to Masjid Al-Islam.
  • In addition to the volunteer work we have had picnics, Mother’s Day Tea parties and competitions, attended a NBA Mavs Basketball game, and celebrated Eid Al-Fitr and our volunteers at Main Event, Johnny Carino’s,  and Dave & Buster's.

We are always looking for more Youth volunteers so if this sounds good to you or your kids, please contact our TMWF Youth Chair at youth@tmwf.org or 214-264-4620.
